Preparing for the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test:

Read this page for important dates and helpful resources.


 

The OSSLT is a provincial test of reading and writing. It is published by the Ministry of Education and is a mandated test for all high school students in Ontario. The purpose of the OSSLT is to determine whether or not students have acquired the essential reading and writing skills used across all subjects of the curriculum up until the end of Grade 9.

Important Dates:

Tuesday February 16, 2010
Grade 10 students at Lockerby Composite School will be completing a practice test. These test will be marked and returned to the students. Students should review their marked tests carefully to determine both strenghts and areas for improvement.

February and March
Grade 10 homeroom classes will complete a thourough review for the OSSLT. Students are encouraged to complete additional review at home in order to ensure success.

Thursday April 8, 2010
The OSSLT is administered to all Grade 10 students in the province.
